Iron Angels

The Iron Angels are a chapter of Space Marines I created for Warhammer 40k. They follow the Space Marine codex and have no special characters, yet. Their story is as follows.

The Imperial scientists came up with a type of mechanical implants that could replace the biological implants that all Space Marines had. A group of Space Marines had their bio-implants removed and had the mechanical implants installed. After a short bit of time Space Marines from many different chapters recieved these implants, eventually there was so many of these marines that a new chapter was formed that has no biological implants. Though most of the Iron Angels are still more man then machine some of their commanders and veterans aquire so many implants that they are mere shadows of their former selves. The Iron Angels worship the gods of technology and consider Tech Marines the greatest acheivements of the Imperium.

The way I paint my Iron Angels is that I undercoat them black. then I paint their crest, eyes and the two balls on the sides of their bacpacks chainmail. After this I drybrush some chainmail paint onto their guns to make the metal look old and worn. Then I glue the model together and I have an Iron Angel. On some models such as sergeants you may wish to put more detail onto them, I paint a metal plate over one side of their face and give them red eyes.

Tactics

These tactics will work for almost any Space Marine chapter, not just the Iron Angels.

One way to play Iron Angels, if you're not playing to win at all costs, is to play them as their story says. Since they worship the gods of technology their forces may include a lot of high tech equipment such as land speeders, devestators etc. Sometimes this tactic might win you some games because most of the Space Marine's high tech units are very powerful.

Another option you have is to play them by taking tactictal squads, basic troops, and dishing out as much firepower from them as you can. Then move the tactical squads after the enemy has been weakened and attack with terminators, bikes etc. Even after you've weakened your enemies with tactical squads you can sill use them to support the terminators and such, after all, we wouldn't want any marines to go to waste now, would we?

One type of warrior that I think has few uses are scouts. The main reason I could think of using them for would be to support your other units from afar with sniper rifles.
